Moving Through

Moving Through: Navigating Pregnancy, Infant Loss, and Infertility through community and movement.

October 2-4, 2026

Through dance and dialogue, Moving Through gives voice to the often-unspoken journeys of women navigating pregnancy loss, infant loss, and infertility. Led by Artistic Director Megan L. Gargano and The Movement Project team, the project combines movement, community workshops, and storytelling to co-create a powerful performance shaped by real women’s voices. Through performance and conversation, Moving Through creates a space for healing, connection, and advocacy, honoring grief while envisioning a more supported future for all mothers and families.

Moving Through - Workshops

As part of Moving Through, The Movement Project is offering two free community workshops for individuals navigating pregnancy loss, infant loss, and infertility. Led by Megan L. Gargano and The Movement Project team, these workshops create spaces rooted in care, reflection, and shared understanding.

On June 28, an Artist Workshop invites artists of all disciplines to explore grief, reconnection, and creative expression through guided movement and reflection alongside fellow artists who have experienced loss.

On August 16, a Community Workshop offers a gentle, supportive space for individuals and families navigating loss to gather in community through guided movement, self-care, and reflection, no artistic or dance experience needed.

The Movement Project was selected as part of the 2025 cohort of ArtsForward grant recipients, a grant program facilitated by ArtsNow aimed to provide resources to support Akron/Summit Cultural Plan’s ten key priorities.
