Moving Through Workshop
As part of Moving Through, The Movement Project is offering a free community workshop for individuals navigating pregnancy loss, infant loss, and infertility. Led by Megan L. Gargano and The Movement Project team, the workshop creates a space rooted in care, reflection, and shared understanding.
On August 16 at Akron-Summit County Public Library from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, the Community Workshop offers a gentle, supportive space for individuals and families navigating loss to gather in community through guided movement, self-care, and reflection. No artistic or dance experience needed.

Welcome Party at The Dance Hub
Join us on Friday, February 13th, from 6:00–8:00 PM for a community Welcome Party at The Dance Hub, The Movement Project’s new home for dance in Northeast Ohio. Enjoy light refreshments, connect with fellow artists and community members, and explore our new space designed to support training, rehearsals, studio performances, and artist resources rooted in connection and collaboration. The Dance Hub is housed within the historic Twist Drill Cleveland building. Our 2,200-square-foot loft features a 33’ x 30’ marley floor, vaulted ceilings, and expansive windows overlooking Lake Erie.
We’re thrilled to open our doors and welcome the community into this vibrant new chapter. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate, explore, and help shape what’s to come.

Join Ajayi Dance and The Movement Project for an informal evening at The Dance Hub on Tuesday, March 31st at 6:30 pm! See excerpts of their current work in progress, get a sneak peek into the creative process, and provide valuable feedback to inform the future of the work.
LINK - Informal Showing at NCCAkron
Join us on Friday, May 15 at 6:00 PM for a free informal showing of new work in progress by Angelina DiFranco, The Movement Project’s 2026 LINK Resident, in collaboration with creative partner DeMarco Sleeper. The LINK Residency, in partnership with NCCAkron, supports emerging artists by providing space, mentorship, and resources to develop new creative work in collaboration with The Movement Project.
This open studio event offers the public a chance to experience the creative process in motion and get an early look at the work being developed for future performances at The Movement Project's SummerWorks concert and Cleveland Dance Fest 2026.
Open Company & Community Class with Victoria Lynn Awkward
Join us as we welcome Boston and NYC based artist Victoria Lynn Awkward, who will be in residence July 1–3, 2026, creating a new work with TMP company members. As part of the residency, Victoria will teach contemporary company classes on Wednesday, July 1 and Friday, July 3 from 9:30–11:00 AM, both open to the community. She will also lead a free community class on Thursday, July 2 from 6:30–8:00 PM.
Victoria's class celebrates expansion of a dynamic mind and body through contemporary dance rooted in rhythm, spirals, and weight shifting. Class includes guided improvisations, heat building exercises, and contemporary phrase work that allows class takers to access both length and strength within their muscles.
