Youth Showcase

PRODUCTION INFORMATION

STAGE SPECS

  • Stage/Marley Floor Dimensions: 25 × 35 (5 panels)

  • Wings & Entering the Stage

    • Access to the stage from backstage - Stage Left Only

      • The space does not have traditional wings.

        • Stage Right: When artists are “offstage” they can stand on the side in view or behind a “upstage traveler wing".

        • Stage Left: When artists are “offstage” they can stand on the side in view or behind the”upstage traveler”. There is an additional space along the side of stage left that is covered by a curtain. We will clip back the curtain for stage access for artists who would like to use this as an entrance.

    • No Crossover

      • Please prepare & adjust your pieces accordingly.

      • Artists entering from stage-right can pre-set at the top of the piece in the blackout. There is an upstage traveler wing they can stand behind.

    • Backdrop: “CYC-like” curtain. See image below.

DRESSING ROOM

  • Miller Classroom: Located 1 level below the theater & studio. (can be accessed via elevator & stairs).

    • Large shared space with tables & chairs (each studio will be assigned a table).

  • Costumes & Props: Please bring all needed costumes & props (if applicable) to wear during tech & store them in the dressing room till after your performance.

    • ALL STUDENTS SHOULD PACK ONLY 1 BAG + COSTUME + WATER BOTTLE. THERE IS LIMITED SPACE IN THE DRESSING ROOM.

TECH SCHEDULE

CHECK-IN (SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15TH)

  • Lobby of the Westfield Studio Theatre/Gund Dance Studio: Each studio/school should check-in with their chaperone at their designated call time (see below).

    • EACH STUDIO/SCHOOL IS REQUIRED TO HAVE 1 CHAPERONE ONSITE FOR THE DURATION OF THE DAY.

  • CDF Lanyards: Chaperones will be given a lanyard at check-in, please wear these throughout the day.

TECH FORMAT

  • Each studio/school will be assigned a tech group. (A or B). See your specific Tech Group below.

  • All cast members are required to be present during the assigned Tech Group time. No exceptions.

  • Each piece will be given time for a quick spacing (think formation to formation, no more than a 1-2 minutes). Then we will run the piece once with music & lights.

  • PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CANNOT MOVE TECH TIMES OR GROUPS, AS THERE ARE A LARGE NUMBER OF ARTISTS AND WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE CHANGES.
