MCKENZIE BEAVERSON (she/her) is a dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist throughout Northeast Ohio. She is a graduate of Toledo School for the Arts where she received her Dance Major Certificate. She has trained in various styles of dance with a focus on dance accessibility. While in high school she served as an assistant dance instructor for the adaptive dance program at Toledo Ballet. After graduation, she was selected to perform in a work by Kora Radella and as a guest artist in Bolero with Verb Ballets (now known as Ohio Contemporary Ballet) in partnership with The University of Akron. After that she joined a physically integrated dance company where she learned more in depth knowledge on working with dancers with various disabilities and had the opportunity to tour and perform with their professional company. She has been a dance teacher for nearly 15 years and currently teaches classes for ages three through adult at several studios and facilities in Northeast Ohio. Her choreography has won several awards at competitions and she has been a commissioned choreographer with various professional and pre- professional dance companies throughout the country. McKenzie has performed nationally and internationally, including performing at Lincoln Center. In addition to her freelance work, she is currently a seasonal company member with The Movement Project and an artist with Ajayi Dance. Previously, McKenzie has worked with The Dancing Wheels Company, Full Radius Dance, Gotta Dance Contemporary, Dance Canvas, The Big Muddy Dance Company, and performed as a backup dancer for Maya Kodes at Georgia Institute of Technology.
