Entwined Project
The Entwined Project began as a 2024 GCAC grant funded collaboration between central-Ohio based artists (Melissa Hinchman, Leah Anthony, Kara Hamrock, Kyle Heaton, and Hayden Hinchman) to explore the beauty of nature through movement, music, and film. Entwined went on to include eight artists with a goal to share movement and nature with the community by hosting a free live performance in June 2025 at Columbus Metro Parks’ Warner Woods Pavilion. Performers portrayed the elements of nature in their movement and interactions with one another. The final stage of this project was creating a film, Entwined: Elements, that allowed our artists to further explore their connection to the environment by working within the elements. Water, mud, wind, and vegetation became it’s own character rather than serving as a backdrop. The project provided us with a deep study on movement qualities, while giving us with a platform to celebrate the intertwining of art and nature. It is our hope that the combination of live performance and film, make the arts more accessible and encourage our audience to find inspiration in the natural world.
