TMP Seasonal Company Member (Performance Contract)

Role & Expectations

The Movement Project is actively seeking well-rounded dancers with a wide range of skill sets, including a strong background in modern/contemporary, ballet, composition, and pedagogy. TMP seasonal company members (performance contract) responsibilities include (but are not limited to) rehearsals, technique classes, performances, composition, and teaching. (Full time company members responsibilities include outreach engagements and weekly admin duties/roles)

**Concluding the contract, TMP will hold a contract review with potential offers for the upcoming season.

  • Dates:

    • May 18th - August 1st, 2026 (Summer Contract)

  • Compensation: Paid positions

    • Seasonal company members receive an hourly rate for rehearsal hours and free company class.

    • In addition, they will receive a performance stipend for

      • SummerWorks - August 1st, 2026

    • An hourly teaching rate for classes taught during our Summer Intensive.

  • Schedule (must be available during these times, no exception)

    • Mondays & Wednesdays: 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

      • 9:30 - 11:00 am Modern/Contemporary

      • 11:10 - 1:00 pm Rehearsal

    • Fridays 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

      • 9:30 - 11:00 am Ballet

      • 11:10 - 1:00 pm Rehearsal

    • TMP OFF (Holiday/Break): 5/25 (Memorial Day), June 19th (Juneteenth)

    • Hires will teach at our annual summer intensive for youth ages 12 - 18 yrs old. (specific schedule/times TBD)

    • Dress rehearsal July 31st, 2026 (specific schedule TBD)

    • Location: Sandefur Theatre at The University of Akron

TMP Seasonal Trainee

Role & Expectations

The Movement Project is actively seeking well-rounded dancers with a wide range of skill sets, including a strong background in modern/contemporary, ballet, composition, and pedagogy. TMP Seasonal Trainees responsibilities include (but are not limited to) attending all company classes for the contracted season (M/W/F), as well as providing admin/staff support during TMP’s annual Summer Intensive & SummerWorks.

  • Dates:

    • May 18th - August 1st, 2026

  • Resources & Compensation:

    • Seasonal trainees receive free company classes ($420 value)

    • Contracted trainees will be compensated for admin/staff support during the week of our annual Summer Intensive (July 27th - August 1st, 2026) and our SummerWorks Performance (August 1st, 2026).

      • General responsibilities (specific roles to be assigned during June):

        • Summer Intensive: Content Collector (photo & video for social media), Check-in/Check-out, minor cleaning/organizing classroom/lobby spaces.

        • SummerWorks: Usher, Backstage, Youth Backstage Support, Content Collector (photo & video for social media)

  • Schedule (must be available during these times, no exception)

Notification

Next steps: Upon receiving all above materials, TMP staff will reach out within 24-48 hours or next business day on status of invitation. All requests will receive a notification email.

Timeline for filling positions: TMP will notify each applicant by end of day January 12th, 2026 on their audition status. Further discussions and virtual interviews may be held prior to job offers.
