"Megan Lee Gargano and Rebecca Nicklos, directors of The Movement Project, have been active members of the OhioDance Board of Trustee since 2012 and 2013 respectively. As OhioDance Board members they assist with the planning and evaluation of the annual and regional festivals. They provide dance education sessions, master classes and performances. They are generous and willing to share themselves fully. Their expertise is essential to the OhioDance goal to recognize, advocate, and communicate the personal, social, and educational value of dance to all Ohioans.”

RESIDENCIES

The Movement Project values the importance of mentoring students through residency and performance experiences. We feel that it is our job as artists and members of the artistic community to provide young professionals the support and skills not only to be successful artists, but also successful people within their communities. Working with professionals prior to graduation is a must. Our residency offers one-on-one interaction with artistic directors, choreographers and company members. It gives opportunities to perform in works by professional choreographers, to develop contacts that help students land jobs post-graduation, and to receive invaluable mentorship from current professionals highly connected in the dance field.
